Albert Camus, often defined as an absurdist author, is characterized by his blunt analysis and emotional distance from the world. This role is only strengthened through one of his most famous works, The Stranger.

For the fourth year in a row, Newman’s Cardinal Theater Company performed in the Massachusetts Educational Theater Guild (METG) Competition. The company travelled to Algonquin Regional High School in Northborough to compete on March 8th.

We are currently in the middle of the school year, and times are getting busy. Everyone’s focus is on the next summative assignment. Despite that, we have to prepare ourselves for college.

Firstly, a large thank you to Hub Town Tours and Newman’s Mr. Mazen Abdallah, for leading and organizing the middle school field trip to the Black Heritage Trail on Monday, February 24th, 2025.

On January 23, the Newman Art Club walked up Newbury Street to find an icon of the local art scene: the Galerie D’orsay. 

The New York 2024 Theater Trip was characterized by exciting shows, collaborative workshops, and personal growth. 

Hosted by the International Schools Theater Association at Ripley Grier Studios, students participated from October 16th to October 19th. 

On February 26th and 27th, the Cardinal Theater Company presented its winter play Number the Stars to an audience of Newman middle school, teachers, and some high schoolers as well as parents ahead of the Massachusetts Educational Theater Guild competition on March 8th.

A new club focused on students trying and sharing recipes created by Nikos Maniuodakis ‘29 recently debuted at Newman.

As spring approaches, the Newman community is preparing to celebrate the diverse cultures and traditions of its students and faculty with an exciting and interactive event—World Culture Day!
